Rattanology Ltd. is a UK registered company  based in Oxford. Founded by Bill and Nory Mae Parry.

 The Founders

Meet Bill and Nory Mae Parry, a dynamic couple whose passion for mid-century furniture evolved from dealing rare pieces to designing their own. They previously owned Midcenturyandco. For years, they sourced and restored iconic designs, developing a deep understanding of form and function. Inspired by the timeless craftsmanship they admired, they launched their own line, blending classic mid-century aesthetics with modern innovation. Today, their creations pay homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of contemporary design.

The Design Studio

Rattanology's design team is the creative force behind the brand’s distinctive and innovative furniture collections. Comprising a group of passionate and visionary designers, this team is dedicated to crafting pieces that seamlessly blend functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.  

The designers at Rattanology draw inspiration from nature, global design trends, and the timeless beauty of rattan to create furniture that is both modern and enduring. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of materials, they skillfully balance form and function, ensuring that each piece not only looks stunning but also meets the practical needs of everyday living.  

Collaborating closely with the workshop team, the designers bring their concepts to life, refining prototypes and perfecting every curve, weave, and finish. Their commitment to eco-friendly design is evident in their choice of sustainable materials and processes, aligning with Rattanology's mission to create environmentally responsible products.

The Workshop

At the heart of Rattanology lies its vibrant workshop, a space where creativity, craftsmanship, and passion come together to bring beautiful rattan furniture to life. The workshop isa hub of innovation, where skilled artisans transform natural rattan into exquisite, handcrafted pieces that reflect both tradition and modern design.  

The dedicated team at Rattanology’s workshop is the backbone of the company’s success. Comprising six talented individuals, each member brings their unique expertise to the table. The team includes three highly skilled furniture makers who meticulously shape and assemble each piece with precision and care. Complementing their work is a gifted weaver, who expertly crafts intricate patterns and details, adding a touch of artistry to every creation. Supporting the production process are two adept machinists, who ensure efficiency and quality by operating specialized equipment and maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.  

Together, this close-knit team collaborates seamlessly, combining their skills and passion to produce furniture that is not only functional but also a true work of art. Their shared commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation is what makes Rattanology’s workshop a place where exceptional rattan furniture is born.
